
Dubrena Myroon received a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Alberta where she studied with Gerald Onciul. During this time, she was principal horn of the Edmonton Youth Orchestra as well as the University Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. During her undergraduate studies Dubrena performed in masterclasses with Jeff Nelson and Hervé Joulain, presented several solo recitals, performed with community groups and honour bands and joined the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra horn section for a few concerts. Upon completion of her Bachelor of Music degree, Dubrena began the Artist Diploma (Orchestral) program at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Here she studied with Christopher Gongos and took additional lessons with Eugene Rittich. Playing with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, she also performed in masterclasses with Julie Landsman, John Zirbel and Jean Gaudreault. Returning to Edmonton following her studies, Dubrena formed the Sarabande wind quintet. She played with the New Edmonton Wind Sinfonia and enjoyed leading beginner band clinics throughout the city. She joined the Saskatoon Symphony in 2006 and HeliOs Brass in 2008.
